PX People values the privacy of each and every customer.

We sincerely hold to our commitment of protecting your privacy and handling any personal information you furnish us, in a manner that is responsible and consistent with the National Privacy Principles as detailed in the latest sections of the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.

We here, at PX People, are in full compliance with the National Privacy Principles, which outlines the minimum standards to which an organisation belonging to the private sector must hold to in the treatment of personal information. This Privacy Policy section explains the methods we use in gathering, using, and disclosing your personal data.

National Privacy Principles

The National Privacy Principles was created from the Privacy Act 1988 and fully applies to PX People.

What is considered personal information?

For the purposes of this section, allow us to first define personal information.

Personal information is:

  • Any information about you. It could also be an opinion about you, whether factual or not, including others people's assessment of your work performance, again, regardless if this is true or not. Personal information also encompasses your qualifications, aptitude test results, work experience, and other information we are able to gather with regards to your possible work opportunities.
  • Inclusive of sensitive information as provided for in the privacy legislation. For instance, we also take into account pertinent information about your health, or any information that comes up from a criminal history check acquired lawfully and discreetly.

Under the laws of privacy, we will only obtain personal information if this is needed in the performance of our duties. In addition, sensitive information can only be gathered with your consent, subject to the exemptions indicated in the privacy law.

Information Gathering

Personal or confidential information is only requested when such information is needed for the completion of our duties and responsibilities.

Any personal data we gather and safe keep typically belong to any one of the following types of information:

  • Information on the candidate volunteered by and obtained from the candidate himself and other references in relation to work applications;
  • Information on work performance;
  • Staff information;
  • Information given and collected with regards to work absences caused by illnesses, leaves, and other personal reasons;
  • Information gathered that could facilitate client management and promote business relationships.

Why hold personal information?

The purposes for which we keep personal information include:

  • Recruitment and placement operations;
  • Training;
  • Staff management;
  • Managing client and business relationships

What other information will be needed?

Under the Private Employment Agents (Code of Conduct) Regulation 2005, PX People is required to maintain a worker register of individuals seeking employment. For every person who looks for work through PX People, the worker register must indicate the following details for each:

  • The name, address, age, gender, and occupation of the person;
  • The type of work he is looking for;
  • The date when the above information is entered into the worker register.

Use and Disclosure

Any personal and sensitive information we obtain may be used for and with:

  • Your actual or possible work assignment;
  • Your performance appraisals;
  • Our own evaluation of your current performance and prospects;
  • Any test or assessment, including medical tests, that you might need to undertake;
  • Identifying your training needs;
  • Workplace rehabilitation;
  • Our handling of any complaint, inquiry, or investigation, where you may be involved;
  • Dealing with insurance claims or proposals that necessitates the disclosure of your personal information;
  • Potential actual clients and employer of PX People;
  • Referrals;
  • Other associates of PX People;
  • Our insurers;
  • The Workers Compensation body;
  • A professional organization or registration body that holds legitimate interest in the disclosure of your personal and sensitive information;
  • Our contractors and suppliers, particularly I.T. contractors and database designers;
  • Any individual or body which is lawfully entitled to such information.

We may disclose your personal information for the primary purposes for which it was held or for related secondary purposes. In some instances, we may only release information with your consent. However, we may disclose your personal or sensitive information in cases where we it is our legal duty to do so, including situations where we are bound by a lawful duty of care to make known such information.

Website Collection and Use of Information

Collection of information through the PX People website may be done through any number of ways.

When you drop by here our PX People site, our internet service provider can immediately log certain information from your visit including:

  • You internet address;
  • Your domain name;
  • Your internet service provider;
  • The date and exact time of your visit to the site;
  • The length of your session or stay on the site;
  • The pages you accessed;
  • The website that linked you to the PX People website;
  • Your computer's operating system;
  • Your browser type and version.

The above information however, is used solely for statistical and website development purposes, and is not sufficient to personally identify you.

There are pages on our site that may encourage you to email us your name and contact details, like for instance if you would like to be on the mailing list for our "Career Coach" E-Newsmail, or if you are amenable to receiving invitations to upcoming seminars.

If you happen to access our Online Enquiry form, you will be asked as well to provide your name, title, organization, address, email address, and telephone number.

Other than the above ways and unless you consciously offer the information, PX People will not be able to obtain any personal information about you through this site.

The PX People website does not make use of cookies (data that a website transmits to a person's hard drive for the purpose of record-keeping) or web bugs for information collection.

Contractors

PX People subcontracts other related services whenever the need arises, and in the process, some contractors may gain access to your personal information. These related service providers that we contract out include accountants, IT contractors, and database administrators.

 

Information Access and Correction

Save for some exceptions detailed in the National Privacy Principles, you may gain access to the personal information that we have about you.

However, we may also deny access if such access will get in the way of other persons' privacy rights, or if it violates any confidentiality that is attached to that information.

If you wish to have access to your personal information, you may do so by getting in touch with our Privacy Co-ordinator. In requesting for access to information, you will need to verify your identity and may be charged a small fee. You can get more details about this from our Privacy Co-ordinator.

You should also expect that processing your request for access could take some time as we would have to retrieve such information from storage and subject it to review, in order to determine what information we can furnish you with.

PX People will also exert reasonable efforts to amend your personal information so that it is complete, accurate, and current.
